a new quarter for brighton and about brighton

Circus Street, a bespoke new quarter for Brighton and about Brighton, is due to complete this summer. Working with U+I to help achieve their ambitions for a unique, mixed-use regeneration project inspired by its community and location, we masterplanned Circus Street, designing each plot from inception and acting as design guardian through to completion.

The masterplan delivers a mix of uses including housing, student accommodation, office, retail and dance spaces all located around new, green public realm. Our approach introduced variety, contrast and detail to create a rich yet coherent visual mix. Colours, materials, fenestration size, scales, massing and proportions have all been integral in creating a scheme which makes a positive contribution to a continuously evolving neighbourhood.

We championed a holistic approach to placemaking across the entire development, knitting individual buildings together in an accessible, welcoming scheme which puts people first. Circus Street benchmarks enlightened urban development, creating a sustainable, productive and healthy new neighbourhood, which builds on Brighton’s existing character to provide a focus for future innovation and creativity.

The residential elements of the masterplan are now complete, with a range of homes inspired by the scale and grain of some of Brighton’s most loved residential streets  from its grand Regency townhouses and mansion blocks, to the smaller terraced streets that line the hillsides.

With apartments now ready to move in to, we are looking forward to seeing Circus Street become an exciting, attractive place to live.
