Outside/In is a collection of exterior-like spaces that celebrate the sensory experience of being in the natural landscape. It has been designed as a place of escape for a visually impaired child. The multiple configurations of the house create different scenic spaces rather than rooms.
The house can be played with like a large Rubik’s Cube puzzle. Each of the floors rotate around a spiral stair. Each room can also hinge and slide. Framed vistas and reflected views can be reset against backdrops of artificial sunsets or vivid blue skies. Tables are honed rock, beds are laminated wood stacks and lights are crystals in this curated natural environment.
