The derelict 17th century Oak Farm, on the outskirts of Liverpool, has been transformed to create a community of five homes linked by a communal courtyard. No.1 Oak Farm includes the restoration of the original farmhouse, an adjoining new annexe, ancillary buildings and a series of landscape armatures connecting other elements of the site.
Internally, the more intimate enclosed spaces have been formed within the existing farmhouse, with the annexe left largely open plan on both levels.
The owners of Oak Farm returned to shedkm with a request to add additional space to their award winning house. This gave an opportunity to provide living and bedroom spaces that connected with the west facing aspect and the garden pond.
