Dave co-founded an independent practice, later becoming shedkm in 1997, and now lives and works in London representing the practice both in architecture and teaching.

He has led on many major new build and conservation projects, bringing a wealth of expertise. Along with his original modernist design and construction of renowned pieces of architecture, Dave is also adept at turning Listed, and often unused, buildings into vibrant fit for purpose usage. Just some of the major projects in Dave’s portfolio include The National Theatre, Christ’s College Cambridge, Liverpool School of Architecture and the Southport Pier pavilion.

Dave is a visiting professor at the Liverpool School of Architecture and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He remains a well-respected mentor and promoter of the shedkm ethos. Dave now balances his life with travel and family pursuits but also regularly resides in the London studio fostering his life-long vocation and belief in the practice, nurture of new talent and participation in the creation of high quality and simple architectural design.
