Plans for high-quality student living at Dunedin Street have been approved. Designed by shedkm for developers HUB, the scheme will deliver 65 new student homes with plenty of built-in amenity and a vibrant ground floor, which will add to the existing gym, bouldering and creative art space in the area.
Sharp details and bold highlights, including our signature shedkm yellow, distinguish the plot alongside a carefully responsive landscape design from MRG Studio.
The project is adjacent to HUB and shedkm’s Arthouse scheme, and delivers landscaping to complete ‘Maker’s Yard’; a new piece of public realm. The scheme is highly sustainable, with communal air source heat pump, biodiverse roof terrace with views of Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat, and lots of secure cycle storage.
Canonmills is located on the edge of New Town, and Stockbridge, near the Water of Leith, Royal Botanic Garden and a short walk to the city centre. This part of Edinburgh has a rich industrial past, having previously been home to print works, laundry rooms, a sawmill and a chocolate factory, and the project is part of a wider regeneration of the area.
