Ella first joined shedkm in 2016, returning as Architectural Lead in 2021 after completing her studies. She now leads retrofit projects in the South, including Zodiac House for Common Projects in Croydon – transforming a derelict modernist office building into emergency housing. As part of the same scheme, she is repurposing a shedkm-designed marketing suite into a vibrant community hub.

Ella has also worked with consultant teams to preserve and retrofit council-owned 1960s towers in North London, saving them from demolition. More recently, she has been leading on a large-scale residential-led regenerative masterplan in East London; addressing challenges of town centre renewal with strategic delivery of new homes.

Ella is a member of shedkm’s environment atelier, guiding best practice and embedding environmental values into early site analysis through a retrofit-first approach.
